14 children killed in pims islamabad

A fire broke out in the children’s ward of PIMS, a government hospital in Pakistan’s federal capital, Islamabad, killing 14 newborn babies. According to sources, fire safety arrangements at PIMS Hospital were extremely inadequate, the fire hoses did not have couplings, and there was no water available at the fire point, emergency evacuation routes were locked. At the time of the incident, there were no doctors, ward boys, or other staff present in the incubation center.
