Meta has announced plans to train 1,000 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across Pakistan free of cost, under its Small Business Growth Academy, running from August to November 2026.
The initiative was discussed during a meeting between Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan and a Meta delegation led by Tehara Punchihewa, Asia-Pacific Public Policy, and Vivian Liang, Policy Programs Manager for Asia-Pacific. Pakistan also invited Meta to partner in the country’s broader digital transformation agenda.
The program, to be implemented locally by AtomCamp, will offer training on Meta’s digital platforms, AI-powered business tools, and online marketing strategies through both physical and online sessions. Meta said the effort aims to boost digital skills, expand market access, and support women entrepreneurs and businesses in smaller cities.
Jam Kamal Khan said digitization remains central to the government’s reform agenda, with Pakistan finalizing an E-Commerce Policy and developing a national AI Policy to drive innovation and economic growth. He described AI as a tool for strengthening policy analysis and public sector efficiency, not just conversation.
He urged Meta to collaborate with trade bodies to maximize the program’s reach and invited long-term engagement on digital literacy and SME development.
