CHILAS: Pakistan Peoples Party workers have been staging a sit-in outside the DRO House and on the KKH for the third consecutive day, protesting the unusual delay in the issuance of Form 48 in the GBA-16 Diamer-II constituency.
The blockade has brought the Karakoram Highway to a standstill, with long queues of vehicles forming on both sides, causing severe hardship for travelers.
PPP candidate Attaullah confirmed that polling was conducted in the presence of all polling agents and Form 45 was duly issued, while Form 47 has also been prepared. He added that only the counting of postal ballots remains pending, making any move toward re-polling unacceptable.
Protesters maintain the sit-in will continue until Form 48 is issued transparently, warning that the delay is fueling suspicions of an attempt to manipulate the public mandate in GBA-16 Diamer-II.
