In the first complete result of the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly Elections 2026, Pakistan Peoples Party candidate Syed Tauqeer Mehdi has won from constituency GBA-7 (Skardu-1). Mehdi secured 4500 votes to claim victory, with Independent Parliamentarians Party’s Raja Jalal Khan finishing in second place with 4056 votes. The result marks the first officially declared outcome of the highly anticipated GB Assembly elections. Counting is still underway in the remaining 23 constituencies across the region. PPP supporters celebrated the early win as a positive sign for the party’s overall performance in the Gilgit-Baltistan elections.
