Independent candidate Asad Shafiq has won from constituency GBA-24 (Ghanche-3) in the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly Elections 2026. Shafiq secured a commanding 8,092 votes to claim the seat, with Pakistan Peoples Party’s Mohammad Ismail finishing in second place. The result adds another seat to the tally as vote counting continues across the region. With two results now declared, PPP has won one seat while an independent candidate has claimed the other. Counting remains ongoing in the remaining constituencies, and more results are expected to be announced in the coming hours.
