In an unofficial preliminary result from constituency GBA-9 (Skardu-III), Pakistan Peoples Party’s Fida Muhammad Nashad has won the seat after results from all 54 polling stations were tallied. Nashad secured 6,314 votes to claim victory in a closely contested race, narrowly defeating independent candidate Wazir Muhammad Saleem, who finished second with 6,106 votes — a razor-thin margin of just 208 votes. The result gives PPP its third seat in the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly Elections 2026. With five results now declared or emerging, PPP leads with three seats, followed by one seat each for PML-N and an independent candidate. Counting continues across the remaining constituencies.
