Brazil and Morocco have both secured their places in the FIFA World Cup Round of 32, ending the tournament dreams of Scotland and Haiti in the process. Scotland and Haiti eliminated as Vinícius Junior makes history in Group stage.

Brazil Cruise Through on Back of Vinícius Brilliance
The five-time world champions Brazil put in a commanding performance to defeat Scotland, with Vinícius Junior and Matheus Cunha both finding the net. Scotland bowed out with just one goal and three points from three matches, unable to secure the result needed to progress.
Vinícius Junior was once again the standout performer, scoring in all three group-stage matches to become only the fifth Brazilian player to achieve the feat at a single World Cup. He joins an exclusive group alongside Jairzinho (1970), Romário (1994), Ronaldo (2002), and Rivaldo (2002) — and notably, Brazil lifted the World Cup trophy on each of those occasions.
The Real Madrid forward’s fourth goal of the tournament also places him level with Ronaldo (2002), Neymar (2014), and Jairzinho (1970) for the most goals scored by a Brazilian in the opening group stage of a World Cup campaign. Across the last two World Cups, Vinícius has now been directly involved in eight of Brazil’s last 15 goals.
Morocco Impress With Attacking Display
Morocco produced an attacking masterclass to seal their place in the knockout rounds, with Achraf Hakimi, Ismael Saibari, Soufiane Rahimi, and Gessime Yassine all getting on the scoresheet. The Atlas Lions continued their rise as one of world football’s most exciting sides, building on the historic performances that have defined their recent international campaigns.
Haiti’s Historic Moment Not Enough
Haiti provided one of the tournament’s more poignant moments, scoring their first FIFA World Cup goal since 1974. The landmark strike offered a bright spot in an otherwise difficult campaign for the Caribbean nation, who were ultimately eliminated alongside Scotland.
Both Brazil and Morocco now advance to the Round of 32, where they will be among the favourites to make deep runs in the competition.
