Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Amjad Hussain at the Prime Minister’s Office in Islamabad on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister congratulated Amjad Hussain on assuming the office of Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, and the two leaders discussed matters relating to the region during the meeting.
Following the meeting, the Prime Minister issued a statement on his X account, stating that the federal government is committed to working closely with the newly elected Gilgit-Baltistan government to improve the welfare and well-being of the people of the region.
He said the federal government is undertaking development initiatives in renewable energy, tourism, infrastructure, healthcare, education, and other sectors to promote the progress and prosperity of Gilgit-Baltistan. Among the key projects cited were a 100-megawatt solar energy project and the establishment of Daanish Schools in the region.
The Prime Minister also announced that the federal government is planning to establish a Pakistan Asaan Khidmat Centre in Gilgit, aimed at providing improved public services and greater convenience to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.
