GHIZER: The Returning Officer for GBA-20 Ghizer-II has formally announced a recount of ballot papers along with counting of postal ballots, following an application submitted by contesting candidates Nazir Ahmed and Safdar Ali.
According to an official notice issued on Monday, the recount and postal ballot count will take place on June 9, 2026, at 10:00 am at the Office of the Returning Officer in Gupis.
The two candidates had requested the recount, alleging irregularities in the counting process and seeking verification of the constituency’s results.
The Returning Officer has directed all contesting candidates of GBA-20 Ghizer-II to be present during the recounting and postal ballot counting process to ensure transparency and compliance with electoral procedures.
