Gilgit: Election campaigning for the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly elections officially concluded at midnight, marking the beginning of the final phase before voters head to the polls.
According to election authorities, all forms of electioneering are prohibited after 12:00 a.m. in accordance with the electoral code of conduct. Candidates and political parties have wrapped up their campaigns after weeks of rallies, public meetings, and voter outreach activities across the region.

Meanwhile, authorities have finalized comprehensive security arrangements to ensure the peaceful conduct of the elections. Personnel from the local police force and Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts will be deployed at polling stations and other sensitive locations throughout the region.
To further strengthen security, approximately 5,000 personnel from the Punjab Police have also been assigned election duties in Gilgit-Baltistan. The additional force is expected to assist local law enforcement agencies in maintaining law and order during the polling process.
Election officials said that polling staff and election materials are being dispatched to polling stations across the region today to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place before voting begins.
Authorities have urged voters to cooperate with security personnel and participate in the democratic process responsibly, while reaffirming their commitment to conducting free, fair, and transparent elections.
