Seven GB Cabinet Ministers Assigned Portfolios as Cabinet Department Issues Notification

Skardu: The Gilgit-Baltistan Cabinet Department has issued a notification assigning portfolios to seven provincial ministers, formalizing key appointments within the newly constituted 12-member cabinet.

According to the notification, Iqbal Hassan has been assigned the Health portfolio, Raja Nasir Ali Khan has been given Forests and Wildlife, and Muhammad Ali Akhtar has been appointed Minister for Finance.

The notification further states that Syed Jalal Ali Shah has been assigned Planning and Development, Muhammad Naseem has been given Communications and Works, Neknam Karim has been assigned Tourism, and Zulfiqar Ali Murad has been given the Local Government and Rural Development portfolio.

The portfolio assignments follow Governor Mehdi Shah’s approval of the 12-member provincial cabinet on July 22. According to the summary approved at the time, the cabinet comprises five ministers from the Baltistan Division, five from the Gilgit Division, and two from the Diamer-Astore Division.

Seven members of the cabinet took the oath of office at the Governor House on July 27, with the remaining ministers expected to be sworn in separately.
