In an unofficial preliminary result from constituency GBA-5 (Nagar-II), Pakistan Peoples Party’s Zulfiqar Ali Murad has won the seat after results from all 32 polling stations were counted. Murad secured 2,705 votes to claim victory in a closely contested race, narrowly defeating Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen’s Riaz Akbar, who finished second with 2,584 votes — a slim margin of just 121 votes. The result gives PPP its fifth seat in the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly Elections 2026. With nine results now declared or emerging, PPP leads with five seats, followed by two seats for independent candidates, and one seat each for MWM and PML-N. Counting continues across the remaining constituencies.
