Aamir Liaquat Video Leak Case: Court Orders NADRA to Block CNICs of Absent Witnesses

Karachi: A hearing in the video leak case linked to late television host Aamir Liaquat Hussain was held in the court of the Judicial Magistrate East, with Dania Shah, his third wife, appearing before the court.

The court expressed strong displeasure over the continued absence of two prosecution witnesses in the case. Due to their repeated non-appearance, the court directed the Director General of NADRA to block the CNICs of the two witnesses.

Dania Shah’s lawyer, Advocate Liaqat Gabol, informed the court that his client has been appearing for hearings for the past three years, traveling continuously from Lodhran to Karachi for that purpose.

“The prosecution has failed to produce its witnesses,” Advocate Gabol argued, adding that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has failed to prove that the video in question was recorded and sent from Dania Shah’s mobile phone.

“Yet the witnesses in the case are not being produced,” he told the court.

The court subsequently directed the FIA to produce the witnesses by August 27.
