Karachi: A woman doctor who allegedly went missing after jumping into a drain in Karachi has still not been found. A case has been registered on the complaint of her father, and the husband has been arrested.

On the night of September 14, 26-year-old Dr. Mashal Kareem allegedly jumped into a drain in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area and has been missing since. According to the police, a case has been filed at Mobina Town Police Station based on the complaint of Mashal’s father.

According to the complainant, his son-in-law Hasnain had an affair with a bank employee and used to physically abuse Mashal. The father stated that due to mental distress, his daughter jumped into the drain. He also claimed that despite being informed of the incident, Hasnain did not arrive at the scene for several hours.

The complainant further stated that during the rescue operation, a blood-stained pure tile was recovered from Rashid Minhas Park, which has been seized and DNA samples have been taken.

Meanwhile, the rescue operation to find Mashal Kareem is still ongoing. The father alleges that his daughter took this step because of Hasnain’s second marriage.
Police have arrested the accused, Hasnain, and further investigation is underway.

According to the Social media posts Dr. Mashal beloged to Budildas, Nagir and had been living in Karachi with her husband for the last two years. She is nephew of well known lawyer and nationalist leader Mumtaz Hussain Nagri.

According to an aye witness, she was lying on a bench in a nearby park bleeing her left arm.
