Pak Navy launches its fourth Hangor-class submarine, Ghazi, in China

The Pakistan Navy has successfully launched the fourth Hangor-class submarine, Ghazzi, in the Chinese city of Wuhan.According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistan Navy’s fourth Hangor-class submarine, Ghazzi, was successfully launched at the Shuangliu Base in Wuhan, China.ISPR stated that with the launching of this submarine, the Pakistan Navy has achieved another important milestone, and all four Hangor-class submarines being built in China are now undergoing rigorous sea trials.The statement further said that the Hangor-class submarines have entered their final stages before being handed over to Pakistan. Pakistan has signed an agreement with China for the acquisition of eight Hangor-class submarines.ISPR added that under the agreement, four submarines will be built in China, while the remaining four will be constructed in Pakistan at Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works Limited under a transfer-of-technology arrangement.These state-of-the-art submarines being developed under the Pakistan–China agreement will be equipped with the latest weapons and sensors, providing them with robust long-range strike capabilities. The Hangor-class submarines will play a key role in maintaining peace and stability in the region.ISPR further stated that senior officials from both Pakistan and China attended the launching ceremony, and this milestone is a practical manifestation of the deepening defense and naval cooperation between the two countries.
