Gilgit: Women mountaineers scale 5400m Bri La Peak on the occasion of Golden Jubilee of Alpine Club of Pakistan, the club said on Thursday.
“History has been written in the high mountains of Pakistan.” said the Alpine Club of Pakistan, adding that “the first-ever all-women expedition, organized and sponsored by the Alpine Club of Pakistan, has successfully made its mark.”

According to the statement, with equal representation from all four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir — these women came together not just to climb, but to break barriers.

Before setting foot on the mountain, they were trained in basic climbing techniques at Sadpara Mountaineering Training School, under the guidance of Sajid Sadpara and Ashraf Sadpara.
From the rugged grounds of Bari La Basecamp, the team pushed higher — and on September 10th, they proudly stood on the summit of Bari La peak, in Deosai.
Their success is not just a climb. It is a statement — that Pakistan’s daughters can rise to any peak.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan congratulated the team on their historic achievement — inviting them to the PM House in recognition of their courage and determination.
All thanks to the vision and leadership of current President of the Alpine Club of Pakistan.
This is only the beginning. Coming years, months and beyond, the mountains of Pakistan will echo with the footsteps of women who dare to dream.
