Chilas: Two people killed and 5 others injured in exchange of firing between two groups in the Takiya village of Chilas, Gilgit Baltistan on Saturday, local media reported.
Media reports suggest that stones, sticks and punches were used during the clash between the Sher Ghazi group and the Nakir group, followed by an exchange of gunfire.
The deceased have been identified as Mahmood and Qari Zakir. According to eyewitnesses, the two men were trying to prevent the opposing groups from clashing. During this time, indiscriminate firing took place, resulting in their deaths.
Emergency declared in Regional Headquarter Hospital, Chilas after the incident where injured people are being treated.
According to reports, large number of people from both groups reached hospital, due to which police have been deployed to avert any further clash.
